You can now enjoy the best of two worlds; the boat has submarine vision (thats underwater windows to the uninitiated) to enable you to view the wonderful variety of sea-life that fills the waters surrounding these islands, as well as being able to spend a few hours in Puerto del Carmen, shopping, sight-seeing or simply relaxing in any one of the multitude of bars and restaurants along the sea front, before making the return voyage later in the afternoon. There are 4 crossings daily except Thursdays and Sundays, the boat having a capacity of 250 passengers. As well as enjoying the submarine vision, you will get a close-up view of the island of Los Lobos, that sits in the narrow strait between the two larger islands, and also the beautiful Papagayo beach on the coast of Lanzarote. If you are very lucky, you may even see flying fish or dolphins. Puerto del Carmen is the most popular tourist resort on Lanzarote, with a 7km main street that runs right alongside the beach, with shops, bars and restaurants galore. If you are missing a taste of home, you will even find McDonalds and Burger King here. There is a new 3 storey shopping centre in the new part of the town. 'Biosfera' is a very attractive shopping complex with a good selection of stores, particularly for the ladies, and again, a good variety of bars and eateries. If 'olde worlde' is more your cup of tea, take a stroll down to the old harbour and have a taste of the old town of Puerto del Carmen, where all its original charm and character are still very much in evidence. To be prepared for your journey, boarding time is 15 minutes before departure. The price for a one-way ticket includes taxes and insurance. You can reserve your tickets by calling either of the numbers below, or you can buy them just prior to your journey, at the kiosk in both harbours. There are good discounts for residents of the Canary Islands in general, and even greater discounts if you are resident in either Fuerteventura or Lanzarote, so make sure you have either your Residencia card or your NIE/NIF number available for inspection.
